Frequently Asked Questions for Sparkles of Sol (Reiki-infused Handmade Crystal Jewelry Shop)

1. Is this pendant in social media still available?

Sometimes I will get a direct message and screenshot on social media asking if a particular piece of jewelry is still available. My website and etsy are updated frequently so the best way to find out is to go to my website and use the search option. Use the words I used to describe the piece on social media, such as “black tourmaline” or “amethyst.” Type in the crystal’s name, and you’ll see a list of all the pieces that are available. If the piece doesn’t show up, it has sold out. Here is a little video to help you. On the phone, the search option doesn’t look obvious, but it’s there.

2. What length are your cords and necklaces?

My stainless steel chains are 20 inches long.

My brass chains are 25 inches long.

My elastic chokers are approximately 20 inches long.

My adjustable cords are as long as 30 inches, and can be shortened to choker length.

Many of my listings will show the pendant with the chain on a model (either me or my cousin, Faye!) so you can best visualize how it would look on you.

3. Can I purchase the pendant without a chain or cord?

Yes, absolutely you can do that, but the elastic choker and adjustable cords are free so purchasing the pendant without these options will not decrease the price. Choose either of the free options - the elastic choker or adjustable cord. When you checkout, leave a note asking for no chain or cord.

4. How is this bracelet adjustable?

I have a special and simple design to make the bracelet adjustable. This video should help, and if you are worried about a good fit, I’m happy to send you an extra cord and video directions to do it for yourself.

5. Can you make a minor change to this piece of jewelry?

This depends on what the minor change is. If you want me to change the length of a bracelet that is elastic, that's easy, and I can do that for free. If you want the pendant in a different color wire or different stone, that's a little different. You see, I'm not a big department store like Target. I don't do wholesale. Each of my pieces of jewelry is handmade by ME. That means I don't have a backroom where I pull out the jewelry in another color. If you want a customized piece that is slightly different from the piece in the photos, I would have to un-do that original design, re-do the design with a new wire, or a new stone, etc. This requires additional labor and materials (wasted wired and new wire). I would charge you a customization price for this. To purchase the customized fee, go to this link.

6. Do you ship outside of the US?

Unfortunately, I do not ship outside of the US.

7. How long have you been making jewelry?

I started when I was a high school teacher because I had a really lovely advisory class. Some call this a homeroom. Well, I truly loved them, and I wanted to give them each a special customized gift, but I couldn't afford anything too expensive for each student. I went to an art store and found some supplies and pliers. I customized some pieces for the students in my class. I remember one girl complaining about bugs as a joke, and I made some earrings that looked like bugs!! I remembered their favorite colors and made the gifts as special as I could. I loved the feeling of using my hands to create something that my students would appreciate and use. This was in 2011. I am no longer a classroom teacher. My full-time job is this small business, and I love to remember how it evolved from my first profession.

8. Does your wire tarnish?

My copper wire is tarnish-resistant. It is plated with resin. If you scratch it with another metal, it will scratch off the resin, and this will tarnish it. I suggest keeping your jewelry in small zip-lock bags you are not wearing them. Keep them away from sunlight in a jewelry box. Keep selenite in your box to keep your crystals charged.

If you purchased 925 sterling silver or 14k gold, like all metals, they will tarnish over time naturally. These are not coated on resin-like my copper is. It's ok! Use a small cloth or polish pad to rub off the tarnish as you see it.

9. How do I charge my crystals?

Your crystals are already charged and ready to be worn out of the box. I suggest bonding with them with this meditation.

10. What is the crystal you sent the jewelry with?

There are some exceptions, but I usually ship your jewelry with selenite. I do this to keep your jewelry charged during travel. Here are the qualities of selenite.

Selenite:

-opens the crown and third eye chakras

-calming stone that instills peace

-excellent for meditation

-clears others healing stones of negative energy

-reprograms other stones

-promotes purity and honesty

-helps the connection between you and your angels and guides

11. Where can I find more information about the qualities of a particular crystal, such as an amethyst?

Each listing has a description of that crystal's qualities. I get the bulk of my information from two books.

The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall

The Book of Stones by R.Simmons

12. How long does it take to create a custom piece of jewelry?

From January to October, it would take 3-5 business days to create the piece of jewelry. This depends on how many creations I have that week, the materials I currently have, and the difficulty in finding particular crystals. For any holiday custom creations, please give me 5 weeks to create them. I suggest placing orders in November to ensure that your customized jewelry creations are ready for the holiday season.

13. I am not sure what my ring size is. How can I find out?

There are many ways to do this from home with a string and ruler. Wrap the string around your finger where you'd like the ring to lay. Measure the string. Find a measurement of the string with a US-sized ring chart, such as the one listed on this website.

That being said, when it comes to customized rings, I have a strict no-return no-exchange policy. You are responsible for choose the correct ring size. The best thing you could do is go to a local jewelry shop and ask them to size you officially.
